I enjoyed Mother’s Day 2019 with my family. I’m so grateful for my Mom and my two daughters Roxy and Carissa who made me a Mommy. As the years seem to whip by and my girls get bigger and bigger, I have to remind myself to cherish these moments when I can just enjoy being with my family.
We began by celebrating with our church family at E2 Church. It was a lot of fun, mainly because we got to enjoy Thai tea afterwards and take a pic and their cute photo booth. Haha, if only everyone knew how much trouble I had getting the girls in their dresses that morning! See me in a dress? Enjoy that because I hardly ever wear dresses. My uniform three out of four seasons of the year is capris and a t-shirt or tank top and flip flops.

After church we headed to Freeport Bar & Grill. My family likes this place because it’s not too crowded, with reasonably good food, and you can make reservations. Kenny got the Chicken Fried Steak. I personally really like the Crab Eggs Benedict. Not only are is the Crab Eggs Benedict good, their bacon and potatoes are good as well. I highly recommend you ask for patio seating.

This year was especially poignant because my Father-in-law is staying with us. He is in the process of transitioning to a home in San Francisco that is currently being remodeled. As we rejoiced and celebrated, we also took some time to remember my Mother-in-law who passed away almost exactly two years ago and both my grandmothers who passed away in 2018.

I actually got a lot of gifts, most of which I am choosing not to share, simply because I don’t think bragging about expensive gifts or the amount will serve any purpose. My favorite gift that I got was a coaster that was hand made by my 7 year old daughter Roxy. I have it on my desk and use it every day. The girls and I gave my Mom mostly handmade gifts this year. My Mom seemed to love the succulent plant arrangement that I put together myself.

At the end of the day, the best thing about Mother’s Day was that I got to spend time with my family. I know I am blessed because my parents are in reasonable health and live 15 minutes from me and I get to watch my two beautiful girls grow up.
To all of you who are in the process of adoption, a Mommy to be, a Mommy with a little angel in heaven, or a someone whose Mom or Grandma has passed on, know that I am lifting you and your family up in prayer.
I hope all of you had a Happy Mother’s Day! I send you all love, light, and blessings.
