As a Sacramento and an Elk Grove blogger, I am often asked what events in Sacramento I go to with my family. Global Winter Wonderland is one of our family’s favorite annual activities in Sacramento. It’s that time of year again! Global Winter Wonderland is coming to Cal Expo November 11 through January 7 with their spectacular lantern display and array of entertainment for your whole family. I know my family is looking forward to this year’s event and we hope to see you there!
If you haven’t been to Global Winter Wonderland before, essentially, there is an awesome lantern display which is a perfect photo op. They have rides such as the Carousel, the Century Wheel and the Super Slide and Christmas Holiday Train for the kids. You can ice skate. There is also great holiday gift shopping, foods from around the world, and some special Christmas snacks such as roasted nuts, sticky buns, hot chocolate and hot apple cider.
I personally like walking around with a cup of hot chocolate and just taking in the lights. I also like getting a jump on my holiday gift shopping. My daughter Roxy loves the rides and begs me to let her go on the Christmas Holiday Train and down the Super Slide.
For those of you in Sacramento, if you’re considering going, I’d like to offer some tips.
Global Winter Wonderland runs November 11 through January 7 from 4:30-11:00pm. You can purchase tickets HERE and check out the full website HERE. Please note that in November it will be closed on November 13-17 and November 27-30. In December it will be closed Monday through Thursday, December 4-7, 11-14, 18-21. Check it out if you’re looking for something to do with your family this holiday season!
